Instead of massive stages, the Austrian folk‑rock ’n’ roller opts for an acoustic live setting with a band and strings in renowned concert halls such as the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Laeiszhalle Hamburg and the Deutsches Theater Munich. Andreas Gabalier has sold over two million records in Austria since his debut album ‘Da komm ich her’ (2009), according to Wikipedia. His album ‘Mountain Man’ (2015) simultaneously reached No. 1 on the charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The associated 2016 MTV Unplugged album rose to No. 2 in Germany and was certified triple gold. Gabalier has won multiple Amadeus Austrian Music Awards, three ECHOs and the 2012 Bambi in the ‘Shooting Star’ category.
