Blue Morpho was produced by Paul Epworth, whose credits include Adele and Paul McCartney, and recorded at The Church Studios in London and O'Brien's own studio in Wales. The seven-track record features Shabaka Hutchings on flute, Dave Okumu on guitars and bass, Philip Selway on drums and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra on strings. Critically praised across outlets from Vulture to the Irish Times, the album draws on psychedelic folk, krautrock and atmospheric textures. Each night, O'Brien is joined on stage by Dave Okumu and British singer-songwriter ESKA, making these shows a genuinely collaborative event rather than a standard solo set.
